Caney Mountain Cavaliers is a small breeding program in Southwestern Missouri. We reside on a large farm in rural Missouri and fell in love with this breed when I was searching for my next therapy dog for my private practice. We breed Blenheim, Tricolor, and Ruby cavaliers with the intentions of breeding for health first, personality second, confirmation third, and markings last. We believe in bettering the breed and therefore produce only purebred Cavaliers with clear health tests and strong lines. It is a pleasure and commitment in producing Cavaliers that become agility dogs, show dogs, therapy dogs, service dogs, and more! These dogs are amazing companion and provide so much love that they are so hard to resist getting a smile or a warm welcome from all strangers they meet along with from their personal humans. They are friendly to all, and have not encountered any difficult amongst other animals or people. Please contact us for more information on your next furry friend.

I feed a raw diet and incorporate natural bones to keep their teeth, jaws, and overall health optimal. Cavaliers have a gentle mouth, puppy stages they are active chewers, but I don't feed a lot of bone treats only as part of their diet. They like all dogs, get bored and need good dental hygiene and
While depending on your environment, Cavaliers do require daily brushing to keep the shedding at bay and knots out of their long undercoat. They are like other dogs, where you get to choose if you are going to self manage and bathe, or do planned grooming appointments. I live on a farm and manage my cavaliers on my own (nail trimmers, bathing, brushing, teeth brushing, etc)
Very much so! My cavaliers enjoy other animals and don't know a stranger. We live on a farm and they have exposure to our cows, chickens, and cat. I have caught them snuggling in the past with my cat and playing with our Blue heeler and Border Collie. They also go daily and are socialized at my work. They are beyond sweet and loving to everyone they meet.
Cavaliers are prone to some health complications however, with appropriate screening and vet management this can be minimized. I breed to standard and do not breed any dog that has been diagnosed with any of the known complications to try and alleviate passing on problems. I screen to OFA standards for heart, eyes and patella's, and use genetic testing DNA for rule out of curly coat, episodic failing syndrome, and dry eye.
You bet they do. They are extremely patient and understanding. I have seen kids play dress up with my Cavaliers, fetch for hours, holding and smooshing their faces without any concerns.
I can tell you these dogs are loving and want their humans attention. Of my Cavaliers all of them have different personalities and manners/traits. One of mine dislikes being alone and the others don't care. Cavaliers do well with a buddy or solo, just depending on their socialization and temperament. However, I know long hours alone may not be ideal and best handled with another companion animal of this is the only option.
Our babies are adopted quickly, so reach out to reserve your furever friend or to ask any questions.
